Read before you buy: What size is a W28? Jeans label sizes against 132 measured pairs · What counts as low-rise? Front rise measured on vintage jeans · How to measure jeans: waist, rise, inseam and hem, laid flat the way we do every pair
Skinny jeans were the Y2K cut, and the originals are better made than most of what replaced them: stretch denim with real weight, Diesel and Miss Sixty details, embroidered pockets and low rises that sit on the hip. Stretch denim ages differently from rigid, so we test the recovery at the knee and the waistband, check hems and rivets, and note any bagging. Every pair is listed by the flat measurement, waist and inseam as W and L in inches, plus the rise, because the label on a 2004 pair tells you very little about how it fits in 2026. There is one of each. Balance them with an oversized shirt or a cardigan; for the opposite line see wide-leg jeans and straight jeans.
Not sure which label size is yours? What size is a W28? puts 132 measured pairs next to their labels, and Will it fit? checks any pair against your own numbers.
