Read before you buy: Night out outfits, UK edition: club, pub and dinner
Midi skirts are the length that suits the most people and the length that vintage did best: pleated wool and tartan from the 70s and 80s, denim midis from the 90s, bias-cut silk and jersey slips from Y2K. We check waistbands for stretch, zips and linings for wear, pleats for their crease, and we measure the waist flat and the length from the top of the waistband, because a skirt that says “12” on a 1978 label is usually a modern 8 to 10. Our model is a UK 8 and 5’6”, so you can see where the hem falls. There is one of each. Wear them with a tucked shirt or a fine V-neck; for longer lines see maxi skirts.
