Diesel started in the Veneto in 1978 under Renzo Rosso and Adriano Goldschmied, Rosso's alone from 1985, and built its name on washed, distressed denim. What comes through this shop is almost all late 90s and Y2K: light washes, frayed hems, low rises, cuts that are oddly proportioned on purpose. Jackets, shorts and sweatshirts, mostly in a UK 8 to 10.

How the sizes run
Diesel tags give a waist in inches and a style name, not a UK size, so we measure every piece flat on the table. The DieselStyleLab denim jacket in stock is tagged L: 18 inches across the bust, 36 round, 22.5 inches long, no stretch, and it fits a UK 8 to 10. The reversible sequin sweatshirt is a size S: 19 inches across the bust, 38 round, 24 inches long, cotton with some give.
The Ronhar micro shorts are a W25: 13 inches across the waist, 26 round, a front rise of 8 inches, an inseam of 2 inches, stretch denim with a little give. Roughly a UK 6, a small UK 8 as pictured.

What to check on a second-hand Diesel
Diesel from these years comes both rigid and with stretch. Rigid denim wears at the hems, pocket edges and knees; stretch denim goes baggy at the seat. On frayed cut-offs, check how far the fray has travelled: a factory hem sits in an even line, one that has kept unravelling climbs towards the pocket bags. On the pieces we have handled, the main button and the rivets carry the Diesel name and match.
Inside, read the care label. As far as we have seen it runs to several languages and names a country of manufacture, not always Italy, so a non-Italian label is not a red flag on its own. On a denim jacket, check the collar fold, cuff edges and buttonholes. On a sequin sweatshirt, brush the panel both ways and look for bald patches.
What size is a Diesel W28? The W28 cut-offs we sold measured 16 inches across the waist, 32 round, and went out as a UK 10. Go by the flat measurements in the listing rather than the tag.
Is DieselStyleLab the same as Diesel? Same house, different line. StyleLab was the higher-end, more experimental collection of the late 1990s and 2000s, so a StyleLab label often means an unusual cut or fabric.
Can I send a Diesel piece back if the fit is wrong? Yes. You have 14 days to change your mind and a further 14 to post it back, with return postage yours. Free UK delivery on orders of £40 or more, and the rest is on shipping and returns.
