Zara opened in A Coruña in 1975, reached Regent Street in 1998 and turned the high street into a fortnightly cycle. Second-hand, two kinds are worth having: the wool coats and 100% cashmere cardigans from the knitwear line, which were made to a better fibre than the price suggested, and the 2000s pieces, corset tops, cowl necks and crochet dresses, now bought as Y2K.
How do Zara sizes convert? European, and small: EU 36 is a UK 8, an M is a UK 10 to 12. We list bust, waist and length flat on every piece.

Does Zara run small or true to size? On the 2 Zara pieces labelled UK 8–10 that we measured, the bust was 32–36″ round (the UK standard for that label is about 34″). That is close to the UK standard for the label.
“Our UK estimate” is the size on each piece's own listing, tried on our model (5′6″, UK 8). Jeans sit on the hips, so a waistband measures more than the natural waist it is made for: about 3″ more on a low rise, 2″ on a mid rise, 1″ on a high rise, the same rule Will it fit? uses. Shorts are left out of the inseam column.
