Miss Me jeans measured by hand: 5 pieces (2 in stock), W26–W28, from £30, one of each.

Miss Me is a Los Angeles denim label, part of Sweet People Apparel, that put out its first collection in 2001 and spread through the 2000s. Back pockets are the reason people still hunt it. On the pairs we have handled that has meant heavy thread embroidery, rhinestones and crystals, contrast stitching, and on the skinny we sold, a wing. What comes through here is from those years: low-rise bootcuts in dark and mid blue, cut-off shorts, and that skinny, now gone.

Every pair here is a single piece. Once it sells, it is gone.

How the sizes run

The tags are US waist inches, and every pair we measured came out wider than its tag. Our W25 measured 14 inches across the waist, 28 round. So did our W26. The W27 came in at 14.5 flat, 29 round, and all three fit a UK 8 on our chart. The W28 shorts measured 15.5 flat, 31 round, a UK 10. The W30 skinny we sold was 16 flat, 32 round, a UK 12. None of the five had any stretch.

The leg is cut close. Thighs measure 9.5 to 10.5 inches flat, bootcut hems 6 to 6.5, front rises 7 to 8.5. UK sizes are read off our size chart.

What to check on a second-hand pair

Start with the back pockets, because that is where the value and the damage both live. Count the rhinestones against the photos, look for empty settings, and run a finger over the embroidery for pulled threads. Then the hardware: rivets, the button and the back patch, which has been leather on every pair we have handled. Our W28 shorts have tarnished hardware and areas of repair. The inside labels are photographed on every pair, so you can read them before you buy.

On the bootcuts, check the back of the hem, which drags first, and the inner thigh, where rigid denim thins. Our W25 was distressed by design, so compare with the photos before calling it wear.

Every measurement above came off our own table.

Do Miss Me jeans run small? Not in the waist. US retailers list the label in juniors sizing, but our W27 measured 29 inches round and fits a UK 8. Trust the flat waist over the tag.

What do you wear with Miss Me jeans and shorts? Keep the top plain and let the pockets work. A white vest and a pointed boot for the bootcuts, cowboy boots or black tights with the shorts. New to the low-rise revival? Start with our Y2K guide.

Miss Me: what our pieces tell us

2 in stock · 3 sold. On the 5 Miss Me pairs we measured flat, the waistband was typically 2″ more than the waist on the label (range +2 to +3″), with a rise of 7–8.5″. Jeans sit on the hips, so a waistband measures more than the natural waist it is made for. Measured table below.

What UK size is a vintage Miss Me W25? On the one Miss Me W25 pair we measured, the waistband was 28″ round, with a rise of 7.5″; we listed it as a UK 8. Jeans sit on the hips, so the waistband measures more than the natural waist it is made for. Our measurements, taken flat on each pair, not the brand's chart.

“Our UK estimate” is the size on each piece's own listing, tried on our model (5′6″, UK 8). Jeans sit on the hips, so a waistband measures more than the natural waist it is made for: about 3″ more on a low rise, 2″ on a mid rise, 1″ on a high rise, the same rule Will it fit? uses. Shorts are left out of the inseam column.
