Whistles dresses measured by hand: 3 pieces (2 in stock), UK 8–14, from £22.50, one of each.
Whistles has been a London label since 1976, and it is one of the few high-street names whose older pieces feel designed rather than manufactured: proper fabrics, clean cuts, colours that are hard to find elsewhere. The cashmere and the dresses are what we buy.
Is Whistles sizing standard UK? Yes, and it runs close to true, but we still list bust, waist and length for every piece.
How do you check Whistles cashmere? The composition label first, then the hand feel and how the knit has worn; both are shown in the listing photos.

Does Whistles run small or true to size? On the one Whistles piece labelled UK 14 that we measured, the bust was 41″ round (the UK standard for that label is about 39″). That is close to the UK standard for the label.
“Our UK estimate” is the size on each piece's own listing, tried on our model (5′6″, UK 8). Jeans sit on the hips, so a waistband measures more than the natural waist it is made for: about 3″ more on a low rise, 2″ on a mid rise, 1″ on a high rise, the same rule Will it fit? uses. Shorts are left out of the inseam column.
