Kookaï was founded in Paris in 1983 and its 1990s adverts, the Kookaïettes, made it the label for tiny knits, mini skirts and leather jackets cut for a French size 1. The Australian Kookaï is a separate business under licence since 1992, so a Made in France label is the Paris one.
What is a Kookaï size 2? French T sizes: T1 is about a UK 8, T2 a UK 10, T3 a UK 12, and everything is cut small. We list the flat waist, hip and length.
What do you check on a Kookai piece before listing it? Label generation, composition tag, hardware on the leather and the raw hems that were finished that way on purpose. All in the photos.

What UK size is a vintage Kookai W26? On the one Kookai W26 piece we measured, the waistband was 26″ round; we listed it as a UK 8. Our measurements, taken flat on each piece, not the brand's chart.
Does Kookai run small or true to size? On the one Kookai piece labelled UK 10–12 that we measured, the bust was 40″ round (the UK standard for that label is about 36″). That is roomier than the UK standard for the label.
“Our UK estimate” is the size on each piece's own listing, tried on our model (5′6″, UK 8). Jeans sit on the hips, so a waistband measures more than the natural waist it is made for: about 3″ more on a low rise, 2″ on a mid rise, 1″ on a high rise, the same rule Will it fit? uses. Shorts are left out of the inseam column.
