Training

Andra graduated in Fashion Design from the Faculty of Arts and Design, West University of Timișoara, where she completed the Fashion – Clothing Design programme (2022–2025). Her graduation collection, “Covenant”, was shown at the MDVTM 2025 graduates' gala on 2 July 2025 at Iulius Congress Hall, Timișoara. Alist Magazine (Alina Aliman, 8 July 2025, on the 19 graduate collections of that year) described it as a subtle critique of patriarchy and gender stereotypes, built from materials as different as taffeta and denim. She wrote about the idea behind it here: Why the Witch? The archetype behind the Covenant collection.

Before that she studied arts and graphic design at secondary school in Loulé, Portugal.

Design and customising

Kitanesque is more than a vintage shop. Andra is building her practice as a designer, and the shop is part of that. She hand-paints, customises and creates her own pieces, each one made by hand in her studio, so no two are the same. They're all available in the Custom section, and her runway work lives in Atelier Kitanesque.

What she does at Kitanesque

Kitanesque is a small, independent shop. Andra curates the pieces and lists every item herself.

  • Checks each piece by hand before it is listed: labels, care tags, fabric, lining, stitching, construction, hardware and serial or date codes. A piece that does not add up is not sold (how we check every piece). If something ever proves not to be genuine, you tell us within 30 days of delivery and get a full refund (how that works).
  • Measures flat, by hand, in inches (bust, waist, hips, length, rise, inseam), so the listing says what the garment really is rather than what the label says. Those measurements feed Will it fit? and the size guide.
  • Washes or cleans every piece before it is photographed, and photographs it on herself, pinned where needed and said so in the listing.
  • Reworks some pieces in the Atelier: hems, repairs, the occasional redesign, always described as such.
  • Writes the sizing guides from the shop's own measurements: what a vintage W28 really measures, how a brand's cuts changed by era.

Her measurements, as open data

Every number she takes goes into the listing and, from there, into two pages that rebuild themselves as pieces come and go: jeans sizing by brand (108 pairs measured flat, label waist against the tape) and knitwear sizing by brand (106 pieces, bust against the UK label). Both can be downloaded as CSV and reused with a link back.

Track record

Kitanesque sold on the big second-hand marketplaces long before this site existed, and still does. Those profiles are public and unedited: eBay, 100% positive feedback from 163 eBay ratings, selling since 2015; Vinted, 99.7% positive from 1,550+ reviews.

The company
